    Introduce:GQH-Ad Digital is TIEON third generation solution of AC power system for substation.Through Digital AC monitoring module, the system offers network-based communication of each input module, feeder module and inverter module, establishing the digital power software platform and realizing information-sharing of AC power system.The system builds digital power hardware platform through all switches being intelligent and modular design, resulting into elimination of secondary cabling as well as cross-panel secondary cabling outside the module. The digital AC monitoring module communicates with the host computer through the Ethernet interface and IEC61850 protocol so as to make the substation power an open system.
Description:

System structure
1. Primary section:

(1)  Integrates the AC input module, AC feeder module, inverter module  by AC monitoring module and networking.
(2) Uses ATS (automatic transfer switching equipment) to transfer the inputs power automatically.
(3)  Use AC/DC inverter module connect to the DC bus rather than UPS batteries.


2. Communication structure
(1) Each module has an Rs485 communication port, which makes data be transferred and exchanged by IEC61850 digital gateway.
(2) The monitoring module collects data and communicates with remote substation automation system through IEC61850 communication protocol.
(3) Real-time monitoring on whole system through Ethernet, achieving remote and local operation of the power system.


Typical designs
1. One bus system
It is commonly used in 110kV and below transformer substation.

2. One bus divided system
This type of design is commonly used in 110kV, 220kV, 500kV transformer substation.

Module function
1. AC monitoring module
1. Communication function: the monitoring unit interconnects and communicates between the intelligent modules, and communicates with host computer using Ethernet and IEC61850 protocol.
2. HMI Interface: Instantly displays electrical data such as voltage, current, power etc. Also can vividly display remote signaling status of ATS, switch etc.; and can achieve control downward such as remote control, remote adjustment etc.
3. Alarm function: Alarm is automatically intrigued when there is abnormal, and creates SOE record;
4. History record function:  Parameters are saved automatically; historical data and historical alarm can be recorded according to user’s requirements.
5. Logical processing function: automatically make logical judgment to over-limit situations
6. Programmed linkage control function: It programs the task and saves the program in the integrated monitoring module, once the program is activated, and then it can carry out corresponding programmed linkage control.

2. AC input module:

It integrates input switch, ATS switch, current transformer and intelligent circuit.
(1) Six work modes of ATS switch
(2) Communication with up machines through RS485 communication interface.
(3) Real-time clock through GPRS
(4) Accurately record alarms or actions, time error≦1mS.The event will not lost after power failure.
(5) Protection function: Ground connection protection and Overload protection
(6) Real time test on input voltage, bus voltage and current, frequency, active power, reactive power, active kilowatt hours, reactive kilowatt hours and power factor, and upload them to host computer. Judge under voltage, over voltage and voltage line breakage.

3. AC feeder module:
It integrates switch, current sensor and intelligent circuit.
(1) Alarm function of switch position and accident trip.
(2) Real time monitoring on current and voltage
(3) Leakage current Monitoring and over limit alarm function
(4) Communication with up machines through RS485 communication interface.
(5) Remote control the feeder switch-on/off.
(6) Real-time clock through GPRS
(7) Accurately record alarms or actions, time error≦1mS.The event will not lost after power failure.


4. Inverter power module
Generally online inverter power is selected: 3-line power is input: 1 AC channel is output through rectifier-inverter; 1 DC channel takes electricity directly from operating DC busbar, and is output through rectifier-inverter; and 1 bypass channel turns to bypass output in case of power failure of both the former channels or a need for overhaul of the inverter.
Main Function: Guarantee uninterrupted power supply of AC load In case of AC power failure. Ensure  the entire substation power security.
Compared with UPS, inverter power has following advantages: 
(1) Avoids redundant battery bank. Because the power plant or substation often has 110V and 220V DC battery cabinet from which DC power is directly taken and is supplied to inverter power
 (2) Longer uninterrupted power supply time. The DC part of the system adopts excellent and long-life valve-controlled maintenance-free battery and adopts reliable DC + reliable inverter power, the system reliability is improved. Meanwhile because of large capacity of battery bank, longer uninterrupted time can be provided after failure of electric network.
